Sultanahmet’te Bir Gün

Mert ve arkadaşları, İstanbul’a gelen misafirleri gezdirmek için Sultanahmet Meydanına gittiler. Hava güneşli ve meydan çok kalabalıktı. Her yerde turistler, rehberler ve satıcılar vardı.

Arkadaşlardan biri, “Mert, şu hediyelik eşyalara bak! Çok güzel görünüyorlar,” dedi.Mert, “Evet, özellikle bu magnetler çok güzel. Misafirlerimize birkaç tane alalım mı?” diye sordu. Sonra gidip beş altı tane magnet aldılar. 

Sonra birlikte Ayasofya Camii’ne gittiler. Kapının önünde uzun bir sıra vardı. Mert, misafirlerine dönerek, “Bakın, bu sırada bekleyen insanlar Ayasofya’yı gezmek için sabırsızlanıyor. İçerisi çok güzel, göreceksiniz!” dedi.

Gezerken rehber şunları anlattı: “Burası bir zamanlar kilise, şimdi ise cami olarak kullanılıyor. İçeride freskler, mozaikler ve büyük avizeler var.” Misafirlerden biri heyecanla, “Avizeler ne kadar büyük görünüyor!” dedi. Rehber, “Evet, çok büyükler! İçerideki detayları görünce şaşıracaksınız,” dedi.

Ayasofya’yı gezdikten sonra grup, meydandaki banklara oturdu. Mert bir simitçi gördü. “Arkadaşlar, simit alalım mı? Yanında çayla çok güzel olur,” dedi. Herkes onayladı. Mert simitleri aldı ve çaycıdan birkaç bardak çay getirdi. Simitler ve çaylar herkesi mutlu etti.

A Day in Sultanahmet

Mert and his friends went to Sultanahmet Square to show their guests around Istanbul. The weather was sunny, and the square was very crowded. Tourists, guides, and vendors were everywhere.

One of the friends said, “Mert, look at those souvenirs! They look so beautiful.”Mert replied, “Yes, these magnets are especially amazing. Should we get a few for our guests?” Then, they went and bought five or six magnets.

After that, they went to Hagia Sophia Mosque together. There was a long line in front of the entrance. Turning to the guests, Mert said, “Look, the people waiting in this line are so eager to visit Hagia Sophia. The interior is amazing—you’ll see!”

While they were touring, the guide explained, “This place was once a church, and now it’s used as a mosque. Inside, there are frescoes, mosaics, and large chandeliers.” One of the guests exclaimed excitedly, “The chandeliers look so huge!” The guide said, “Yes, they’re massive! You’ll be amazed by the details inside.”

After visiting Hagia Sophia, the group sat on the benches in the square. Mert saw a simit seller. “Friends, shall we get some simit? It’ll be great with tea,” he said. Everyone agreed. Mert bought the simit and brought a few glasses of tea from a tea vendor. The simit and tea made everyone happy.
